This pleasant museum has made its home in an imperial-looking palace on the central Didzioji street. The building was once a residence of the Chodkiewicz clan, and a good deal of the lavish decor has survived to this day. The collection spans 17th to 20th century art from this part of Europe, and highlights include Wilczynski's 'Album de Vilna' and Ferdynand Ruszczyc's 20th century landscapes. There are also some charismatic portraits of noblemen of the Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania. The less inspiring stuff is compensated for by the evocative palace interiors. All in all, worth a visit.
