'Heavens above' seems like an appropriate expression! This church presents a fairly austere front to the world. But step inside and you'll find that the opposite is true. The stuccoed ceiling ranks amongst the great works of the age - it was created by Pietro Perti and Giovanni Galli, and it's a miraculous thing to behold. Not one motif is repeated. The church itself was founded by Grand Commander Michal Pac in 1668. However, he passed on before the project was realized, not before alienating his entire family by spending all available funds on the monument. The dragon chandelier is another fantastic touch.
