Amber Museum-Gallery

|
No trip to Lithuania would be complete without ogling some of that Baltic Gold; and here you'll see plenty with exhibits of amber's various forms, sizes and colours. This is the place to go if you're doing research for your Jurassic Park knockoff. You'll see everything from centipedes to spiders - even a snail shell - encased in the stuff. Information is available in English, Lithuanian and German explaining the formation and history of amber, as well as how it is harvested and processed. And of course there's plenty available for purchase at this unofficial museum, gallery, studio and shop all-in-one, near St. Anne's cathedral. Open daily, 10:00 to 19:00. |
