Skamba Skamba Kankliai

Skamba Skamba Kankliai is the Vilnius International Folklore Festival which takes place in the Old Town every year since 1973. Every May flok dances, concerts and workshops happen right in the centre on Vilnius. Museums also open special folk exhibitions. This probably is one of the best ways to get to know eastern European countries, as their rich cultures and traditions are revealed and the performers' festive spirits are out there in full capacity.

Baltic Tango Festival

The Baltic Tango Festival takes place in Vilnius and this should be of no surprise as Lithuania is known for its great passion for the tango. They say tango is not a dance, it's a lifestyle. Throughout June workshops are held, beginners as well as advanced tango dancers are very much welcomed. Apart from this there will be performances by such great tango talents as La Tropezon, La Rosa Blindada, Eduardo Gimenez and Jose Martinez and others. Dance classes are held everyday form 3PM till 6PM and performances take place at 7PM.

Vilnius Festival

All music-lovers should make their way to Vilnius before this Festival ends. The Vilnius festival is one of the most respected and most impressive music events in Lithuania. The main focus is classical music concerts, however jazz music as well as contemporary Lithuanian music will share the spotlight too. This year the Festival continues to promote the musical theatre.
