As you can probably imagine, trying to find a parking space in the Old Town can be a nightmare, particularly during workdays. And trying to park for free is even more challenging. The best free parking lot in the centre we know of is on Klaipedos gatve (see map). You'll find it near the confluence of Vilniaus and Klaipedos - around the corner from Balti Drambliai and across the street from the Finnish embassy; give it a shot. Another potential free spot may be found in the small lot on Arsenalo gatve by the Applied Arts Museum. If these don't pan out, you may as well resign yourself to paying and just grab whatever spot you can find. Parking on the street in the Old Town costs 3 lt an hour, while parking further out will be 1 or 2 litas, depending. Parking is paid through automatic parking machines which do not give back change, so make sure you have coins at the ready.

Thanks for the advice. Finding a parking place is actually easier than not getting confused and lost on Vilnius' labyrinthine streets!
