The mother of all soullessness, Akropolis is the largest shopping centre in Lithuania, perhaps in Eastern Europe. Literally tens of millions of devout shoppers worship at this consumer shrine every year. After only a ten minute vehicular pilgrimage you'll arrive at this city-beyond-the-city and park in one of the 3200 parking spaces where a symphony of thousands of car alarms sounding in unison will usher you through the doors of this sacred shopping mecca. Occupying almost 110,000 m2, Akropolis includes a 15,377 m2 Hyper Maxima (LT's own department store chain), a 14,458 m2 Ermitazas (home repair), 2,247 fast food venues, a multiplex cinema, ice-arena (which operates some nights as a discotheque), 20-lane bowling alley (describing itself as 'ultracosmic-style') and the obliteration of all things good and natural.
