Walking into a linen shop is the last thing that this scribbler would have put on his holiday list. Napkins, table-cloths, swathes of material for making shirts .....? Sounds as dull as dishwater. But after some tugging from female quarters he soon found that he was eating his words. This really is top quality stuff, a factor clearly grasped by the discerning French, Polish and Italian ladies that were flocking into the shop. Linen is a classic product from this part of the world, and the prices here are not at all bad.
